Many people don’t know who is Pongky Manullang. You can say that Pongky Manullang is a newcomer in music industries in Indonesia. In 2008, Pongky released his first album “Pongky Manullang – Self Titled”. There are ten tracks in this album. There are:

Mix with English and Indonesian song, this album also can give you new feeling about accoustic music. Pongky wrotes in his blog, why he chose to play accoustic in his music, and some history about the last song, that is “Sersan Nurcholish”. Almost all of the song is played using guitar and “Helen” with piano, but I supposed he likes playing guitar more than piano 🙂

In my opinion, I like almost of the song, although “Kau yang Ku Sayang” is not actually a new song, but with his new music arrange, I kinda like it. Generally, I think his playing style feels like Iwan Fals (in some song). But overall, I like this album. Buy it if you like guitar and accoustic music 🙂

ITS NAME IS “DUA BAND” but don’t imagine that the personnel of this band is only two person, because even take a name of DUA, but there is six people as its member. Is this a new band?
In fact it is not. In 2006 ago, when there were really still two people, this band can “bother” ear with its single entitle ‘Kau’, that quite a lot requested Indonesia music lover.
Unfortunately, afterwards they “lost” to the number of new bands that raise at the same time. Lose? In the reality they’re not. DUA alter its concept becomes a full band. Now this band consist of Paul [vocal], Lona Cindy [vocal], Andri [guitar], Adi Saputra [guitar], Dhafie Ramadhan [drum], and Adriono Suryo [bass].
Right now as a full band, DUA released their second album entitles ‘Cerita Hati’ that rely on their single ‘Takkan Hilang’. People say that this album tells about its personnel life story. This album is wrapped with “thick” acoustics feel and good composition. Enjoy!

Trio Kwek Kwek

“Trio Kwek Kwek” is not a new music group, but actually, this is an old one. It was form in 90’s and the personnel of this group consist of two girls and one boy. What is with the “boy” and “girl” thing? Well, actually “Trio Kwek Kwek” actually a music group for kids, they sing songs for kids, and they were kids too at that time! This group actually not my favorite kind of music group since I was a kid, but maybe it’s my sister’s hehe… Dhea Ananda, Leony Vitria H., and Affandi is the member of “Trio Kwek Kwek”. The group created at 1993 and created seven albums up until 2001.

Right now, what remains from this group is only history, since they have grown up and some of them actually doing solo career in music, and acting in some films. However, they still contact each other and their friendship still goes on until now. Thanks to that old “Trio Kwek Kwek” group that introduce them to each other. I wish every one of them luck for their careers.
